KABUL (SW): The foundation to defend journalists and media around the world in Geneva, Switzerland, called Afghanistan as the most dangerous country for journalists, in its latest report published on Thursday.
According to this report, the numbers of journalists killed in the first four months of the current year in 18 countries are 44 people while at the same time last year it was 28 people.
According to the report, Afghanistan ranked first as the most dangerous country for journalists with 11 journalists being killed only the in the first four months of the current year, Mexico, and Syria with 4 journalists being killed in each ranked 2nd, while Yemen, Ecuador and India with 3 journalists being killed ranked third.
The report also condemned the killing of nine journalists in two suicide explosions on Monday in Kabul and expressed concerns over the safety of journalists in the country.
Kabul witnessed two suicide explosions on April 30, and the second explosion explicitly targeted the journalists and media reporters which killed 29 including 9 journalists and wounded more than 40 others.
