KABUL (SW): Afghanistan’s national football team moved 17 spots up in the latest FIFA World Ranking published in July, 2015.
Moving up 17 spots in the FIFA World Ranking, AfghanistanNational Football Team rose to 134th spot with the 212 points.
According to Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF), dazzling performance during the recent qualifying rounds for the FIFA World Cup 2018 has led to the rise in ranking.
In two qualifying rounds so far, Afghanistan has lost its match against Syria and won against Cambodia that placed the country ranked third in its Group E.
On August 03, Afghanistan would play a friendly match in Thailand against the host nation. Later, on August 08 the national team would take on Asian giant Japan in Iran for the World Cup qualifier.
