KABUL (SW) – First vice president, Sarwar Danish, said on Saturday Afghanistan is not a ‘laboratory for transition and interim’ governments.
Addressing a moot at the Kabul University, the VP said any possible change should be in line with the Constitution. He said the Taliban have no capacity to take Afghanistan forward, and are hence making excuses such as the demand for the withdrawal of foreign troops and changes in the Constitution.
He said those backing the Taliban demands are undermining national values. He said undermining the Constitution would result in chaos in the country. Danish stressed peace is not just a deal, it should be based on social values to prove sustainable.
Participants stressed the peace process should be owned and led by the Afghans.
