KABUL (SW): Afghanistan is set to have an international and one friendly football match in coming weeks, the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) has announced.
As per details, later this month on August 30, Afghanistan would visit Muscat to take on the host Oman for a friendly football match. This match is part of preparations for the upcoming 2019 Asian Football Championship qualifier against Jordan.
After this encounter, the national team would take on Jordan for an important international match on September 05.
The AFF has announced the final list of players for these two matches. The squad comprises of Owais Azizi, Hameedullah Wakili and Qais Wahab as goalkeepers, Hassan Amen, Mustafa Hadeed, Bin Yameen Najam, Kanishka Taher, Melad Intezar, Maseh Saighani, Ahmad Aaraf Hatifi and Islamuddin Amiri in the defense while captain Faisal Shayesta, Mazyar Kohyar, Sharif Mohammad, Farshad Noor, Abasin Alikhail, Mustafa Zazay and Qais Shayesta in the middle. Zubair Amiri, Khyber Amani, Omaid Popalzay, Jabbar Sharza, Amaruddin Sharifi and Bilal Arzo would play as forwards.
In its Group C for the 2019 Asian Football Championship qualifiers, Afghanistan is joined by Jordan, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Afghanistan had equalized its game against Vietnam and lost to Cambodia.
