Afghanistan condemns massacre in France

KABUL (SW): Afghanistan on Saturday strongly condemned the brazen militant attack in the French capital Paris that left over 100 civilians’ dead.

Minister for Foreign Affairs, Salauhuddin Rabbani called upon the French Ambassador Jean-Michel Marlaud and expressed his condolences. “Afghanistan, as a country that has been a victim of terrorism itself can feel the pain of the friendly country France and its people”, Rabbani said on the occasion.

At least eight gunmen stormed a number of public places in the French capital Friday night and indiscriminately shot at people. Three of the attackers are said to have blown themselves and one being shot dead by the security forces.

Praising the longstanding and enduring assistance by France for peace and stability in Afghanistan, the Foreign Minister said the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and its people stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of France at these difficult times.

Salauhuddin Rabbani extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones in the carnage of Friday night and prayed for the early recovery of the wounded ones.
