Afghanistan and China talks business in Kabul

KABUL (SW): The follow-up meeting for The Second Protocol of the Joint Trade and Economic Cooperation Commission between Afghanistan and China was held on 2 July 2015 in Kabul.

Minister of Finance, EkililHakimi, chaired the meeting which was also participated by representatives from Ministries of Commerce, Foreign Affairs, Mines and Industries as well as representatives from the Chinese embassy in Kabul.

Ajmal Hameed Rahimzai, Spokesman for the Ministry of Finance said the follow-up meeting focused on development projects, which included establishing a world class exhibition facility, shelters for flood-affected people and establishing technical and professional institutes.

Capacity building of the public sector employees, strengthening private sector, cooperation between the banking sector of the two countries, mines and petroleum were covered as important agenda items, he said.  

Rahimzai added that Afghanistan raised the matter of providing better market access to fresh and dried fruits and travel facilities to the Afghan traders.

Earlier, The Protocol of the Joint Trade and Economic Cooperation Commission between Afghanistan and China was signed by Eklil Hakimi and Chinese Deputy Minister of Commerce on 16 July 2015 in Beijing, China.
