KABUL (SW): The government claimed to have enough proof against Pakistan’s involvement and support for terrorism in Afghanistan to take the matter to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
This follows President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani’s remarks at the joint session of the parliament last week when he vowed to utilize all diplomatic sources to expose the roots of terrorism in Pakistan.
Shah Husain Murtazawi, Presidential Spokesman, told Salam Watandar that the diplomatic mission at the UN has the duty to prepare for it and whenever it was necessary, the complaint would be filed against Pakistan at the UNSC.
Analysts believe now is the time to exert pressure on Pakistan and force it to stop patronizing the terrorists bent upon destruction in Afghanistan.
Taher Hashmi, Professor at the Kabul University, said in this regard that the cross-border shelling and support for terrorists must be reported at the UNSC. “This is the right time, the U.S, China and Russia are all focused on Afghanistan and if the government has enough proof, these countries would back Afghanistan”, he said.
The 15-member UNSC has five permanent veto power holding nations including the U.S, Russia, the U.S, France and China.
