KABUL (SW): The Afghan United Football Club on Wednesday won the first division of the Kabul League organized by the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF).
According to the AFF, the Afghan United F.C. emerged victorious on points’ difference with a total of 29 points following a three-month event at the capital’s Ghazni Stadium. A total of 14 teams from the capital city participated in the tournament. The Barak Youth Football Club secured the second slot with a total of 28 points.
These two leading teams of the first division of Kabul League have made it to the Kabul Premier League. The Big Bear Football Club, which dropped to the bottom of the first division, has been relegated to the second league for its poor performance.
Sameer Samandari of the Afghan United F.C. was awarded with the man of the tournament award for his 14 goals in the event. The Maihan Youth Football Club was crowned with the fair play award for its disciplined performance.
In Panjshir province, the Peerozi Youth Football Club has won the first league of the provincial league tournament played among ten selective teams there.
