ISTANBUL-KABUL (SW): The Afghan Embassy in Ankara in a statement has said a clash between the Afghan immigrants with the local Kurds has led to the death of an Afghan on Tuesday in Istanbul.
According to the statement, the incident took place in Sultan Ghazi area of the city. After the incident, the Turkish police have apprehended 300 Syrian, 200 Pakistani and 30 Afghan undocumented immigrants for investigation.
But, Arif Farahmand, an Afghan citizen living in Istanbul’s Sultan Ghazi area, told Salam Watandar that the clash started between an Afghan immigrant and Kurd citizen which resulted in the latter’s death. “Later, the local Kurds attacked the immigrants area in the Sultan Ghazi which has taken 30 lives and injured more than 60 others so far”, informed Faramand.
Based on the information given by the Afghan citizen, the Turkish police were not able to handle the mob which resulted in several hours of fighting.
