KABUL (SW) – The latest rankings published by the International Cricket Council has two Afghan players rising to higher positions.
In this ICC ranking, spin-bowler, Mujibur Rehman Zadran has left behind 25 international players from his previous position to secure the 37th slot. And, following impressive display of batting, new and emerging star opening batsman, Hazratullah Zazai, has immediately entered the latest ICC rankings ahead of two international players.
Zazai scored two consecutive half-centuries, 74 and 82, against Ireland in the latest series away from home.
The spin-sensation, Rashid Khan, has successfully secured his top position as the best bowler in the T20 format while flamboyant opening batsman Shahzad Mohammadi has been dropped from 10th to 13th slot. Among all-rounders, the experienced Mohammad Nabi remains second best in the world behind Australia’s Glenn Maxwell.
Among the national teams, Afghanistan remains ahead of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh on the 8th slot.
