KABUL (SW): Abdullah Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Unity Government, clarified on Monday he has played no role in resignation of Balkh governor, and only approved it some 15 days ago.
This is the initial reaction of the CEO after his party mate and former Balkh governor Atta Mohammad Noor lashed out at him for his unseating. Noor called Abdullah a ‘snake up in the sleeve’, held him responsible for 80 per cent of the troubles behind his deposing, and threatened to ‘break teeth’ of Abdullah.
In his remarks during a meeting of the council of ministers at his office, Abdullah said he tried his best to resolve the issue via dialogue, but it had reached a phase when a decision was inevitable. He vowed the matter would peacefully be resolved.
In an indirect reference to the remarks made by Noor about breaking Abdullah’s teeth, the CEO said he would make sure to take care of his health, and teeth.
