TARINKOT (SW): A woman in southern Uruzgan province has killed an insurgent attempting to kill her husband, an official said on Wednesday.
Col. Rahemullah, Provincial Director Security Affairs told SW the incident took place in the Khero Karez area near the provincial capital. “The insurgent shot fires at a local elder Abdul Ghani last evening and got wounded in fires shot back by men who were praying along Abdul Ghani”, Col. Rahemullah said.
He said, later the wounded insurgent was shot dead by Abdul Ghani’s wife.
In a separate incident in neighboring Kandahar province, a vaccination team member lost life to a landmine in the Takhta Pul district. Samim Khpalwak, spokesman for the provincial governor told SW a team of vaccinators was on its way back to the provincial capital when their car hit the mine.
Seven members of the team got wounded in this incident. Three of the wounded individuals are said to be in critical condition.
