KABUL (SW) – The number of coronavirus cases are surging with an upward trajectory, health ministry officials warned on Thursday.
Wahidullah Majrooh, deputy minister for services at the Ministry of Public Health, told a news conference that in the past 24 hours, 171 new cases of coronavirus had been reported in different provinces, bringing the total number of corona cases across the country to 3563 .
Out of these recent incidents, 45 eere confirmed in Herat, 34 in Kabul, 16 in Kandahar, 18 in Paktia, 10 in Ghazni, 15 in Badghis, 13 in Bamyan, 9 in Maidan Wardak, 3 in Panjshir, 3 in Badakhshan, 2 in Logar, 2 in Zabul and 1 in Khost provinces.
In the last 24 hours, two people have died and eight have recovered from the coronavirus in Afghanistan, bringing the total death toll to 106 and the recovery to 468 people.
