KABUL (SW) – The government on Friday declared lock down in the capital, Kabul amid fears of the corona virus.
Announcing the details of the move, Waheed Umer, director general, office of public and strategic affairs, said the move has been approved by the cabinet.
As per the move, all public and private offices, markets – with exception of essential supplies, would remain closed until further notice.
Officials warned spread of the virus in the capital city of over five million due to its central location as central point for commuters from all over the country.
Health minister Ferozuddin Feroz warned the situation could get out of hands if people did not took the threat seriously.
