Taliban kill 25 security personnel in Kunduz, Uruzgan

KUNDUZ (SW) – Provincial council members in Kunduz and sources in Uruzgan confirmed on Wednesday the killing of at least 25 security forces in the Taliban attacks.

Safiullah Amiri, a member of the provincial council, said the Taliban attacked security check posts in the Dasht-e-Archi district last evening killing 13 security forces. He confirmed 13 security forces got killed and seven others got wounded in this attack while three security personnel are still missing following the attack.

The directorate of police in the 117 – Pamir zone declined to comment.

The Taliban claimed the attack, and vowed to have assassinated 12 security forces here.

In Uruzgan province, well-places sources informed Salam Watandar that the insurgents attacked two police check posts in the provincial capital, Tarinkot killing 12 policemen and injuring eight others.

The Taliban also took away arms and ammunition from the check posts.
