KABUL (SW) – The Taliban killed at least 22 security forces in a coordinated attack on Bala Hesar area in Aqcha district of Jawzjan province.
A well-placed security source told Salam Watandar the incident took place at around 02:35 am on Tuesday. He added 20 soldiers and 2 policemen are among those killed in this attack. The source said the insurgents blew-up the main highway linking Aqcha with the rest of the province.
A provincial council member, Amruddin Danishjo, said the Taliban took away five security forces with them.
The spokesman for the army’s 209 – Shaheen Corps, Muhammad Haneef Rezaey, has only confirmed the attack without sharing the death toll.
