KUNDUZ (SW) – At least 14 members of the Afghan Local Police got killed in the Taliban’s attack in Kunduz province.
Safiullah Amiri, deputy chairman provincial council, said the incident took place in the Ali Abad district’s Arz Begi village. He added commander of the check post is among the 14 policemen killed in the late-night onslaught.
Spokesman for the police, Inamuddin Rehmani, has confirmed the incident. He claimed heavy death toll has been inflicted upon the Taliban as well.
The Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahed, took responsibility for the attack. In a social media post, Mujahed vowed 20 policemen have been killed and a large cache of arms and ammunition confiscated.
