KABUL (SW) – Findings by Salam Watandar indicate inflated votes have been cast in a number of polling stations crossing the Independent Election Commission limit of 400 votes in each center.
The findings indicate such inflated votes have been cast in remote parts of Helmand, Nangarhar, Paktia and Logar provinces in favor of a particular presidential candidate.
For instance, the ballots in Helmand's Nava district's Khaleej high school code 3003061 has the result sheet witout the remarks of the presiding officer. But, statistics show a total of 419 votes out of which 414 are for Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, 2 for Abdullah Abdullah, 2 for Gulbuddin Hekmatyar and 1 for Farouk Najrabi.
At the Syedkhail high school polling station in Nangarhar's Kot district, the IEC had sent 450 ballot papers with the code 0613296. Results from here indicate 448 women casting votes here for Ghani and no other candidates got any vote.
Similarly, a polling station for women in Syed Karam district of Paktia received 450 ballot papers with the code 1306102. In the ballot, 417 women voted for Ghani while Abdullah earned 25, a number of other candidates only earned one vote each to make a total of 450.
In the Zakumkhail school polling station of Baraki Barak district in Logar province, 400 ballot papers were sent with the code of 0502032 and all 400 votes have been for Ghani.
In Ahmedkhail district of Syed Karm district in Paktia, 417 people cast votes, all for Ghani, but the number of ballots sent to this center with the code 1306044 is unknown.
This comes amid growing rift over biomtric and non-biometric votes.
According to the latest statistics released by the Independent Election Commission, the total number of people who have participated in the presidential election reaches 2.598445.
Many presidential candidates and observer bodies insist that these statistics are unrealistic and that the biometric varification needs to be the benchmarked to separate real votes from fraudulant ones. A number of electoral team claim that the far-flung areas of the country are subject to widespread fraud and other violations of the law the absence of biometric echnology.
