
ASADABAD (SW) – At least 3 children got killed in Kunar province due to shelling by Pakistan forces, an officials said on Wednesday.
According to the local officials, the shelling that began last week killed three children and injured six others in the mountainous Dangaam district this afternoon. The provincial governor spokesman Ghani Musmim, said the children were playing when mortars fired by Pakistani forces hit them in the Kharofati area.
Officials said some 703 mortar shells have been fired by Pakistani forces on Kunar in the past few days.
Afghan envoy to United Nation, Adela Raz complaint against this cross-border shelling last week. The letter read, "Afghan government calls on the United Nation Security Council to take necessary measures and actions to put an end on the identified violations." It added, "Will be grateful if this letter of complaint on Pakistan's continued activities is circulated as an official document of the Security Council."
