FAIZABAD (SW) – A number of Badakhshan provincial council members said on Monday the Taliban have overran Keran Wa Manjan district here.
PC member, Jawed Mujadadi, told Salam Watandar the Taliban overran the district after taking control of the Lapis Lazuli mines here. He said heavy losses have been sustained by the security forces as well as by the Taliban. He did not share details about the death toll.
The Keran Wa Marjan is a remote district of the province bordering Takhar, Nuristan, and Panjshir provinces.
