Razaq Wahidi: I am politically victimized

20/07/2019

KABUL (SW) – Abdul Razaq Wahidi, former minister for the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, on Saturday re-appeared for open trial.

Wahidi is charged with abuse of power, corruption and taking bribes worth millions for appointments at the Afghanistan Telecommunication Regulatory Authority during his tenure as minister. Rejecting the allegations, Wahidi said today he has been politically victimized and might be imprisoned.

The state attorney, however, said on the occasion that documented proofs are available against Wahidi.

The former minister was imprisoned by a court last year for three years in connection with these allegations. The Supreme Court had also upheld the ruling.
