KABUL (SW) – The Free and Fair Election Forum of Afghanistan on Thursday blamed the electoral commission for being weak in managed and coordination.
This criticism came a day after the Independent Election Commission said in cannot hold the parliamentary elections for Ghazni and provincial council elections together with the presidential polls due to shortage of funds and time.
Yosuf Rasheed, head of the FFEFA said while commenting on this move that the electoral commission has always reversed its previous moves and has always failed to deliver on pledges and legal obligations. He said the IEC has delayed a number of its long over-due operations such as voter registration and voting schedule.
He said a while ago, the IEC opposed suggestions for delaying the parliamentary polls for Ghazni as well as the provincial council elections, but due to alleged lack of autonomy it has surrendered to external pressures in this connection.
