KABUL (SW) – Gen. Khoshal Sadar, deputy minister at the Ministry of Interior, has sacked top police officers in Baghlan after Sunday’s terrorist attack here.

Provincial police chief Allah Dad Fidaey and security chief Mohammad Zaman Ayar have been replaced with Niaz Mohammad Niyazmand and Naqeebullah Yosufi respectively.

“Visited Baghlan after Sunday’s coward attack by Taliban. Understood more about the incident & introduced new police chief. We wont step back & stand more firmed than evef. Taliban will pay for their brutalities. We are targeting them on daily basis. Wont let them unaccountable”, Gen. Sadat tweeted.

The former security bosses have been charged for negligence of duty. Mohammad Safdar Mohseni, chairman for the provincial council, said Fidaey and Ayar have been removed from their positions for lack of effectiveness.

At least eight insurgents stormed the police headquarters in Pul-i-Khumri on Sunday killing 21 security forces and injuring 60 others including civilians.
