FAIZABAD (SW) – Two members of a gang involved in child pornography and blackmail have been arrested in Badakhshan province.
Ahmad Faisal Baigzad, spokesman for the provincial governor, told Salam Watandar the accused Bismillah and Baseer are charged with sexually abusing children and producing videos to blackmail them later for money.
One of the victims, Ahmadullah, said the accused blackmailed him, and asked for AFN 50,000 in return for the video of abuse. He said Bismillah took him to his home on the pretext of fixing window glasses, and abused him there. Ahmadullah said he has already paid AFN 15,000 to Bismillah.
However, the accused, Bismillah, has rejected the allegations. He vowed to accept the consequences if the allegations against him are proven.
Authorities in Badakhshan said efforts are underway to arrest more members of this gang.
