The Uzbek leader of the ISIS group was arrested in Jawzjan

JAWZJAN (SW): The local authorities in Jawzjan said that security forces in the province have arrested Shirzad Anvarov, the Uzbek leader of the ISIS group that has been active in sourcing funding and equipment for the group.

Mohammad Raza Ghafoori, spokesperson for the Jawzjan Governor, told Salam Watandar that the security forces in this province has detained the leader of the ISIS group who is from Bukhara, the province of Uzbekistan, after stopping him at a checkpoint in the city of Sheberghan.

According to spokesperson for Jawzjan Governor, Shirzad Anvarov was one of the most dangerous figures of the ISIS group in the districts of Derzab and Qosh Tapa of Jawzjan province, who was detained by the security forces of the province when traveling to an unknown location.

Spokersperson for the Governor of Jawzjan said that the leader of the ISIS group had confessed to the initial inspections that he had been in the ranks of the ISIS group as leader of the group, and has previously traveled several times to Uzbekistan and Pakistan with nicknames.

The ISIS group has not yet told anything to the media about his capture.

Jawzjan is one of the most insecure provinces in the north of the country, where ISIS has huge presence.

The residents of this province have always complained about the insecurity and extensive presence of this group, which in the last instance, the ISIS group burned down dozens of homes in Derzab district.
