KABUL (SW): The night before, a 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck large parts of western Iran and northeastern Iraq, killing at least 328 and injuring 3950 so far.
The earthquake shook the regions of Bushehr, Khorasan, North Azerbaijan, Semnan, Tehran, Zanjan, Fars, Khorasan Razavi, Lorestan, Hamedan, Ilam and Kurdistan.
At most provinces, public mourning was announced and schools were off for the day.
Iran’s security officials said the death toll in Iran has been rising since the earthquake, and so far 328 people have been killed and 3950 others injured.
At the same time, Seismographic Network officials in Kermanshah region said that more than 100 aftershocks have been recorded after the original earthquake.
On the basis of the Seismographic Network, the earthquake epicenter was on the 34.86 point north, 45.81 point east, and at a depth of 8 kilometers.
