HI: Not all conditions of the peace deal implemented by the government

29/09/2017

KABUL (SW): It has been a year since the Hezb-e-Islami inked the peace deal with the government, but it says the promises made with them are not fulfilled.

Qareebur Rahman Saeed, a spokesman for the Hezb-e-Islami, told Salam Watandar it was agreed the government would ensure release of all of its prisoners charged with political cases, pave way for the former Hezb-e-Islami government employees to rejoin their posts and distribute residential plots among repatriating refugees from Iran and Pakistan.

He lamented not all of these demands have been met by the government. The Hezb-e-Islami spokesman said only 50 of their party workers have been released so far.

Ahmad Shah Farzam, member of the commission tasked with the implementation of the peace deal with the Hezb-e-Islami, said in this regard that all efforts have been made to ensure the deal is implemented. He said many points of the deal have been realized, and there is no hurdle in the way of others either.

The peace deal between the government and the Hezb-e-Islami was drafted in four chapters, three articles and 26 points. The deal was inked by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and the Hezb-e-Islami chief Gulbuddin Hekmatyar on September 29 last year.
