KABUL (SW): The 63rd round of the UEFA Champions League began after the selection rounds on Tuesday.
According to official UEFA website, 32 Europeans teams will compete in the round of Champions League with Real Madrid as defending champions.
This season of UEFA will continue till May 2018. In this tournament, the teams will compete in 8 groups. On Tuesday night, 8 teams went against each other in 4 groups.
In the Group A, Manchester United's 3-0 win against Basel, CSKA Moscow’s 2-1 win against Benfica concluded the matches. While, in Group B, Bayern Munich won a 3-0 win over Anderlecht and Paris Saint-Germain 5-0 against Celtic.
In Group C, Chelsea easily defeated Azerbaijan’s Qarabag by 6-0 and Atletico Madrid ended the match 0-0 against Roma. Group D teams Barcelona scored 3-0 against weakened Juventus to whom Barcelona had lost quarterfinals last year. In the last match of Tuesday Lisbon won 3-2 over Greek Olympiakos.
Wednesday night will also have UEFA 8 teams going against each.
Group E: Liverpool v Sevilla, Maribor v Spartak Moscow
Group F: Feyenoord v Manchester City, Shakhtar Donetsk v Napoli
Group G: Porto v Beşiktaş, Leipzig v Monaco
Group H: Real Madrid v APOEL, Tottenham v Dortmund
It is expected the UEFA final will be held on 26 May 2018 in Kiev, Ukraine.
