A group of landmine planters arrested in Kunduz

KUNDUZ CITY (SW): Afghanistan National Directorate of Security (ANDS) have arrested a group of youngsters who are involved in planting landmines in Kunduz.

An ANDS source says the suspects are between the age of 10 to 17 years who are trained by the Taliban to plant landmines targeting security forces.

Sayed Mohammad Danish, provincial governor’s spokesman, says the network of children were being managed by one named ‘Malim Sher’.

The arrested children have said that they were first thought anti-government sentiments in a Madrasa (religious school) in Yatim village of Char Dara district then they were thought landmine planting by Malim Sher. According to the children, they were told in the madrasa that the government security forces are infidels. The children have ANDS that at least 20 children from different provinces of the country are trained by the Taliban in landmine planting in Kunduz.
