KABUL (SW): The Ministry of Rural Reconstruction and Development (MoRRD) on Tuesday approved 52 development projects for better management of water for irrigation.
The projects are said to worth AFN 198.6, and would be implemented via different village council across the country. Naseer Ahmad Durrani, Minister for Rural Reconstruction and Development, said on the occasion these projects would be implemented in Laghman, Kapisa, Logar, Sar-e-Pul, Kunar, Samangan, Nanagarhar, Faryab, Badakhshan and a number of other provinces.
He said justice and equal opportunities are ensured in these projects. Durrani said up to 355, 000 people in these provinces would benefit from these projects. The projects also aim to provide job opportunities for thousands of people.
Momin Dilawar, representive of Azara village council from Logar province, said on the occasion these projects would help resolve a number of issues faced by farmers. The MoRRD officials urged the village councils to ensure transparency while implementing these projects.
