SHEBERGHAN (SW): Pro-Daesh rebels in Jawzjan province have burnt a mosque and desecrated up to 500 copies of the Holy Quran in Darz Aab district
Rahmatullah Hashar, chief of Darz Aab district, told Salam Watandar the mosque was an education center for young men and children. “Deash does not follow any rules or regulations, they only want to create fear and chaos. By desecrating a mosque along with the Holy Quran, the Daesh rebels proved this”, added Hashar.
Mohammad Reza Ghafori, provincial governor’s spokesman, confirming the incident, said pro-Daesh rebels have torched down a mosque along with 500 copies of the Holy Quran and some other books. “Few days ago, the Daesh rebels vandalized almost a century old Sufi shrine in the same district”, informed Ghafori.
The pro-Daesh had damaged and destroyed shrines and graveyards in the Darz Aab district of the province last week.
