PUL-I-KHUMRI (SW): According to the provincial directorate of women affairs, a man has strangled his wife in Baghlan province last night.
Khadija Yaqin, director of the women affairs, told Salam Watandar the man is the resident of Qol Kar Kar area of the Pul-i-Khumri city who killed his wife. The victim has left 5 children behind.
Zabiullah Shuja, head of communication at the provincial police headquarters, while confirming the incident, said the culprit is absconding from the scene of the crime. “The motive behind the murder is unclear”, informed Shuja.
Local authorities said the body of the victim has been sent for postmortem to the public hospital in the provincial capital. Dr. Abdul Halim Ghafari, deputy director for the provincial directorate of public health, said the victim’s body has signs of blunt force and injuries.
