KABUL (SW): Afsana; a young mother and her 6 years old son Koshan were among those who lost their lives in twin-suicide attacks in Kabul on Tuesday.
The attack near the parliament building was claimed by the Taliban. At least 38 people, mostly civilian employees of the parliament, died in this attack. More than 50 sustained injuries.
Afsana; a Kabul University graduate, was serving at the parliament for the past seven years before this brazen attack claimed her life. Talking to Salam Watandar, mother of this 35 years old woman said she cannot bear the pain of this tragic incident that has literally shattered their lives.
Kambez is the younger son of Afsana. He is just four years old. His grandmother is disgusted. “My adoreable daughter will not be back, she had so many dreams, she took all of them with her to the grave”, the dejected mother lamented. Afsana’s husband is in Germany.
The family has blamed the government for not ensuring security of the civilians.
Abdul Hakeem, father-in-law of Afsana, said his son was shocked to hear about the death of his wife and his son. “My son has not been granted asylum in Germany, he will be terribly sad when he returns to the country now”, he said.
