KABUL (SW): The Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) has expressed resolve to bring fundamental reforms in the Kankor [university entrance exam] this year.
Faisal Amin, the spokesperson for the MoHE, told Salam Watandar that fundamental changes are going to be brought with the upcoming Kankor exams. He noted that the plan for these changes has been approved by the cabinet, and around the country, the upcoming Kankor exams would take place in summer. The officials noted that biometric system would also be used to prevent manipulation at Kankor.
Speaking in this regard, Amin Hashim, a lecturer at Kabul University, told Salam Watandar that this move by the MoHE is in the right direction. He asserted that such positive changes would help lift the education system in Afghanistan.
According to new plan drafted by the MoHE, the upcoming Kankor exams would be held in March, the resulst will be announced in August and the first semester of the university students would begin in September.
Kankor exams are fate-deciding examinations for students across Afghanistan. Students have welcomed the proposed changes.
