ANSF inflict heavy causalities on Taliban in Farah

FARAH CITY (SW): Security operations carried out by the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) in Farah province have reportedly killed at least 136 insurgents and 66 more are wounded.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Muhiuddin Ghori, the commander of Afghan National Army (ANA)’s 207-Zafar Corps in the western areas of the country said that the ANSF have launched both aerial and ground assaults on the Taliban militants in Bringtut, Ganhkan, Raj and Naw Bahar villages on the outskirts of Farah city, leaving 136 rebels dead and 66 others injured.

The ANA commander asserted that the ANSF have pushed the insurgents back from city’s suburbs and clean-up operations are underway. Ghori further said that the Afghan National Security Forces have destroyed 5 drug producing factories run by the Taliban in Bakwah district of the province. He added that the ANSF have also confiscated several vehicles from the Taliban. The commander confirmed that the ANSF have received no causality in this operation.

The Taliban have not commented in this regard so far.
