KABUL (SW): The National Front for the Salvation of Afghanistan (NFSA) led by Sibghatullah Mujadadi has expressed opposition towards two articles of the peace deal signed between Hizb-e-Islami and the government.
Speaking at a press conference here on Sunday, Zabihullah Mojaddedi, the secretary for the party, said that one article in the peace agreement grants full impunity to Hizb-e-Islami. Mojaddedi pointed that the government is not the right authority to grant impunity to those who have been involved in ‘mass killings’. He urged that no one is allowed to grant full impunity to Hizb-e-Islami.
He believed that the Article 9 of the peace agreement grants privileges to a party that is like the rest of jihadi parties, and it has committed a number of ‘blunders’. The secretary for NFSA stated that no jihadi leader has ever claimed such privileges, and the government also did not grant such privilege to any of them except Gulbudin Hekmatyar of the Hizb-e-Islami.
Mojaddedi said that a number of articles are contrary to the fundamental essence of the peace agreement and they should be altered.
