
PUL-I-KHUMRI (SW): A number of security personnel based in Dahan-e-Ghori district in northern Baghlan province have said that the Taliban, by capturing Dand-e-Ghori area, have blocked the district for the government employees.
Shah Jahan Ayubi, a member at Baghlan provincial council said that a number of the residents in Dahan-e-Ghori, who cooperate with the government, and the businessmen are too afraid to go to the provincial capital because of the rebels.
A number of security personnel, who have been under siege in the district told Salam Watandar that due to the blockage of the roads to the district, they have not received their salaries for the past four months now.
Mohammad Osman and Zubair; the two security forces personnel, who are caught in the district, said that if the militants attacked on the district, security forces would find it hard to resist.
“We urge the government to conduct military operation in Dand-e-Ghori and clear the area of the militants so that the problems are solved, and we can receive our salaries, which have been delayed for four months now.” they noted.
Abdul Satar Barez, governor in Baghlan, said that the security forces based in Dahana-e-Ghori are supplied through air, and are not faced with any challenges.
He said that the government would conduct a military operation to clear the area of the militants soon. “Our security forces taught the enemy a lesson and destroyed them last year, and now I can assure you that we are considering a plan to dismantle them soon.’ he said.
