Deadly blast leaves 11 dead and 36 more injured in Turkey

ISTANBUL (SW): A deadly blast occurred in Istanbul on Tuesday which left 11 dead and 36 more injured.

“The blast occurred at a busy junction in the Beyazit district, near an Istanbul University building, and was caused by a bomb placed inside a car that was detonated as the police vehicle passed by”, said Vasip Sahin, the city’s governor.

Omar Ranad, a freelance journalists, said that the reason behind such explosion is to create fear in the tourist attraction areas in Istanbul.

Istanbul is famous for its tourist attractions which draw tourist from all over the world to this city.

Tourism is a good source of income for government of Turkey.

Political experts believe that such explosions could leave a negative impact on the tourism industry in Turkey.

Turkey has witnessed several explosions over the past year.
