PUL-I-ALAM (SW): As many as sixty thousand individuals are likely to get jobs in Logar province as the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MoRRD) launched a $ 286 million dollar project here on Tuesday.
The project would see construction of 16 canals that would stretch to some 300 kilometers across the province. The project would be focused in the provincial capital Pul-i-Alam and Mohammad Agha districts.
Speaking on the occasion, Naseer Ahmad Durrani, Minister for Rural Rehabilitation and Development said that the funds for the project have been provided by the international community. He promised that the project would be completed within a year.
The minister vowed that the project would help improve water supply in the province that would subsequently lift the agriculture. He added that most of the canals and bridges in the province would be reconstructed.
Mohammad Haleem Fidayee, governor Logar said at the launch that this project would do wonders in terms of creating jobs and improving livelihood of the farmers.
