MAZAR-E-SHARIF (SW): Atta Mohammad Noor, Acting Governor of Balkh, criticized the Peace Talks process and said that the quadrilateral sessions presented the Taliban the opportunity to further equip themselves.
Speaking at a gathering for supporting Afghan National Army Forces (ANAF) on Tuesday, he said that the Taliban have always deceived the government but NUG’s leaders have always pleaded and extended their brotherly hands to the militants.
He said that during winter the armed opposition group finds it difficult to fight against the security forces and that they pretend to be interested in Peace Talks but as soon as spring arrives they turn to fighting again.
He condemned peace negotiation with the Taliban and said that the process is destined to fail since the militants continue to exploit it.
Meanwhile, Shah Hussain Murtazawi, Deputy Spokesman for the President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, told Salam Watandar that the government will use whatever it takes to suppress the militants except for those who are willing to join the Peace Talks.
