KABUL (SW): Abdullah Abdullah, the Chief Executive on Monday warned against warming ties with Pakistan as he blamed the neighboring country for unbroken support for terrorists in Afghanistan.
Addressing the cabinet meeting, Abdullah said Pakistan has not changed it policies towards Afghanistan despite Kabul’s unprecedented outreach towards Islamabad. He regretted that the sincere and friendly attitude by the government of Afghanistan was responded with coldness and terrorism.
Commenting on the latest spate of terrorist attacks across the country, the Chief Executive said efforts for peace with the militants would be reviewed to make sure the enemy does not take it as a sign of weakness.
He criticized the new Taliban leader Mullah Mansoor for doing nothing but causing a bloodbath in Afghanistan. Referring to the Taliban’s grand council that elected Mansoor as the new head, Abdullah said the fact that this meeting was held in Pakistan was a clear indicator about Islamabad-Taliban nexus.
Abdullah added efforts were underway to flush “Pakistani spies” from the ranks of security forces and pronounced it as one of the primary tasks of the Ministry of Defense (MoD). He lauded the sacrifices of the security forces in defending their motherland.
