KABUL (SW): Afghanistan’s emerging football stars made their country mates proud on Sunday as they bagged a second consecutive victory in the ongoing Asian Youth Under-12 Football Fiesta in Seoul, South Korea.
Young Afghans overcame their Bangladeshi competitors 1-0 in the nail biting encounter on Sunday. This was followed by a more impressive 4-0 victory over a local South Korean side.
According to the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF), the U-12 squad secured first place in its group after three victories and one equalizer. The National U-12 team comprises of players from the capital Kabul, Herat, Kandahar and Balkh provinces.
It is vital to note that Afghanistan ranked second in the Asian Youth Under-12 Football Fiesta. A total of 15 Asian nations, split into two groups, are taking part in the event.
