Khshal Khan’s literary work to be compiled, translated

KABUL (SW) – At the ‘Genius Khushal International Academic Seminar’, literary figures called for translating the 17th Century poet’s work and his introduction to rest of the world.

Addressing the fourth and last day of the seminar, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, said he has special affection for Khushal Khan, and has read all of Khan’s poems and prose. He directed relevant authorities to facilitate literary activities through the Consulate in Peshawar and Queeta.

Ghani said there are similarities in the works of lKhushal Khan, Ali Sher Nawai and Shaikh Sadi on the lines of the classic Islamic literature such as the Siyasat Nama by Nezamul Mulk. The president highlighted geographic importance of Khushal Khan’s birthplace, Akora Khatak, during the Mughal Era. He also shed light on the deep-rooted traditions of hospitality and generosity among the Pashtun Khans of that era.

Abbasin Yosufzai, an academic figure from Pakistan, said the message and philosophy of Khushal Khan should be shared with the rest of the world to let the world know of his stature.

President Ghani accepted the request to establish ‘Khushal Khan Literary Award’ for exception work of art.
