Taliban torch homes of Sar-i-Pul uprising force members

SAR-I-PUL (SW) – The Taliban rebels have torched homes of the members of local uprising force in the Sancharak district of Sar-i-Pul province.

According to Assadullah Khuram, member of the provincial council, the Taliban torched homes of members of the local uprising force after overrunning the Guzar and Taghay-e-Khwaja areas in the district. He added the rebels also warned locals against participating in the forthcoming Wolesi Jirga (lower house) elections. 

 The locals have expressed concerns over the situation. Abdul Samad Sancharaki, a resident of the district, told Salam Watandar the law and order situation is fast deteriorating in the district.

A credible security source told Salam Watandar the security situation is deteriorating in the province amid the forthcoming polls.
