KABUL (SW) – The Grand National Coalition of Afghanistan on Monday announced end of their closure of the electoral commission’s offices after assurances from the government.
Addressing a press conference today, the GNCA leaders said the election commission offices are being allowed to reopen, but in case the Independent Election Commission failed to use biometric system of verification in upcoming election or failed to hold the election on time, they would resume agitation and close IEC offices.
GNCA spokesman, Hamayon Hamayon, stressed transparent and timely elections are their main demand. He warned if the government failed to hold transparent polls, the alliance would close down IEC offices across the country.
