JALALABAD (SW) – A training center for midwives in Jalalabad city came under armed assault on Saturday.
Attaullah Khogyani, spokesman for the provincial governor, said all trainees have been safely rescued prior to the attack. However, a well-placed source informed out of 69 trainees, 57 have been rescued.
Firing and explosions have been heard in the vicinity. A security source informed Salam Watandar three attackers entered the compound, and started shooting. Health officials have confirmed at least three people got wounded in the incident.
There has been no immediate claim of responsibility.
