KABUL (SW): The finance and budget commission of the Wolesi Jirga (lower house) on Saturday shared its report on utilization of development budgets by different ministries and different independent public authorities.
The report revealed that up to six ministries and authorities have zero per cent utilization of their development budgets. It included the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Women Affairs, both houses of the parliament, the Afghanistan—Small and Medium Enterprise Development (ASMED) and the Afghanistan National Standards Authority (ANSA).
Azeem Mohsini, chairman of the finance and budget commission of the WJ, said on the occasion rest of the public sectors have utilized up to 18 per cent of their development budget so far. He pronounced the utilization of the development budget unsatisfactory.
Amir Yar Khan, deputy speaker of the house, said on the occasion those found guilty of poor utilization of development budget must be summoned to the house for clarification.
The report indicated that a number of public entities are lagging behind with less than 10 pe r cent of the development budget utilization.
