KUNDUZ CITY (SW): Flash floods have caused havoc in Kunduz province where officials confirm up to 1000 homes are damaged.
Mehboobullah Syedi, governor of Imam Saheb district, informed over 1000 homes have been damaged and over 3000 jeribs of agriculture land destroyed due to floods. The locals are urging the government to help them bear these losses.
In the meantime, chairman of the provincial council, Mohammad Yosuf, has echoed these concerns. As per his estimates, residents of 20 villages sustained losses due to flash floods in Imam Saheb. He urged the government to help the affected people, and devise ways and means to stop such incidents from causing losses in the future.
Mir Aqa Etebar, provincial head of the National Disasters Management Authority (NDMA), has noted the Imam Saheb district is worst affected in Kunduz. He added NDMA team has been dispatched to the area to assess losses.
