KABUL (SW): A new brand of sports goods has been launched in Nangarhar province.
Sartaj Shahidzay, owner of the newly launched ‘Afghan Blade’, informed Salam Watandar there are plans in place to produce goods for multiple sports besides cricket. Hailing the significant rise in popularity of cricket in Afghanistan, Shahidzay said most of the goods are still imported.
The AB management vows to produce world-class goods, and sell them on affordable prices.
Sportsmen, civil society activists and officials present in the AB launching ceremony welcomed the move.
Mirwais Bahawi, vice president of the Afghanistan Physical Fitness directorate, and Sharafuddin Shaki, member of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, expressed their support for the AB.
It is worth noticing a large quantity of equipment and various sports kits for different sports are imported from neighboring Pakistan and other countries.
