24/04/2018

KABUL (SW): The Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) has earmarked AFN 5 million in its annual budget to lift the credentials and skills of university teachers.

Arifa Paikar, spokesperson for the MoHE, said on Tuesday in line with this plane, all university teachers across the country would be helped obtain Masters Degrees. As per this strategy, public sector university teachers can join national or international academic institutions for higher studies.

As per information provided by the MoHE, up to 300 public sector teachers have been enrolled for Masters Degrees in Afghanistan and up to 700 have been provided opportunities to acquire higher studies abroad. There is a plan to provide similar opportunities to 1000 more teachers this year.

Paikar informed currently as many as 2652 teachers are serving at different public sector universities in the country.

This initiative is part of a comprehensive four-point reforms project by the MoHE.
